First Attempt at Rerooting...

I recently, decided to try my hand at rerooting... If you search it up, several videos are posted via Youtube that you can watch to learn the basics. I found this one to be simple and fairly easier for me to attempt. Here.

I removed Francine's hair and waited for the saran hair I purchased via etsy to arrive from Australia. I wanted golden blonde to reroot too.

It arrived and I finally had a day at home to start it off. Unlike the video, I just used my scissors, a big eye needle and threader I got from the 100yen store and my craft pliers. As the video showed, after you've removed the hair, you take the saran hair you want to use and separate into sections. I tie the one end up and use my scissors to trim the excess. Now, depending on whether you want long hair or short, determines how much of the hair you will have to use.
Since I want Francine to have long hair, I used the same length as the saran I bought. Taby thinks she will look like Rapunzel instead. LOL Maybe?! After you've made several of these sections of hairs and made a knot on the ends, you can either finish doing that to all the saran or like me take my time and do just a bit at a time.

My first day, I just did, the front section of Francine's head. I took the needle push through the neck side of the head up into the already made holes from the last hair plugs. In the eye of the needle, I use the needle threader to pull the hair plug through the opening. I hold the tied side of the hair plug, and gently pull the need through using the pliers to help me. As you pull gently, slowly, and very carefully, pull the plug of hair completely through. Next, let go of the tied side, and pull that slowly, so that, the tied part of the plug goes into the head of the doll.
One by one, I did the outer rim of Francine's head. On day two, I continued that outer rim and started to work on the inside section of her head.
So far, the challenge is keeping the other hair plugs from getting caught on the one you are pulling. Ugh. I have some stray hairs coming through too. So, I trim them if its really a lot. They don't warn you about that... I may need to buy more saran? Unfortunately, Francine's head is bigger than Barbies, which I didn't think so and I will need more saran. More than likely, it's because i kept the length long, really long. Haha.

Anyhow, here's what I got in the mail too!
A sweet vintage ceramic puppy coin bank from Yahoo Japan auctions. He even comes with his original box. I am deciding on listing him in the shop or not?!

For Christmas Taby gave me a new display cabinet!! OMG it is a lot more larger than my previous cabinet, which was actually a book case. I've given that one to the girls to use in their room, and now here is my lovely display case is done!
It took us two days since Christmas to put together. No instructions, just a material list. Ugh. But we did pretty good.

Later in the early evening, we went to dinner with my mother in-law and saw the Christmas display at Agana Shopping Center. Sadly, it was raining so we didn't get to go to the Governor's house.

Then, we left for Yogurtland... Sam and Taby's drawing, as we waited for Sara to finish her yogurt...
We also went to Payless Supermarkets for groceries, and I found these made in Japan snacks! With "Be Love" manga magazine art. How cool! On this Toppo chocolate sticks snack.

Along with other snacks. Expensive on Guam, since they are imported.

It was a good family day out. More on my reroot experience when I get more saran in!

Latest Finds Arrive!

Oh my Christmas is just one day away! Time sure is flying super fast now! Anywho, here are some things that I picked up online and at our local Kmart!
I caved, I went back to Kmart and saw that these cuties were still there and now on sale! Yay! So, I picked up one with antlers and one in tan. I will take a photo of the one I got through Yahoo Japan and these guys all together soon.
They are about 4 inches tall and in lovely condition. Made cheaply as compared to my original and from Hong Kong.

Labeled as Jaclyn Smith collection Christmas decor. Was $6.99, I got them for $2.97 each.
While looking around for other good buys, I found this!! A Holiday Illumination decor, titled, Glass Cloche LED battery operated. It was about $27.99 on sale at $11.99. Yay! I got myself one, and upon inspection, it was not glass, but thick plastic dome, plastic base, with battery compartment. Inside, is a wire with little tear drop glass bulbs with tiny LEDs. Not too bad, and I probably paid regular price for something made like this. Oh well, still it was lovely, and I've always wanted these type of lights.
I've seen them at a local furniture store in a bottle or tower as decor. I thought about buying one and taking out the lights to light up my dresser. No need too now, with this Cloche. Yay!
When it's lit up they look like tiny fire flies inside a jar to me! So cute. I am able to place my cute bunny ceramic inside too. The lights don't heat up, so they are safe near cloth. It also has a timer, you can leave it turned on, and it will light up for 6 hours. Then, turn off for 18 hours.

Also, in the mail, I got this Molten Glass on drift wood through etsy. The first time I saw one was at my friends house. I fell in love with hers and decided to get one. This one came all the way from Florida. Well packed and arrived safely to me. I can't wait to decorate it, and display it on my dresser.
It just drift wood with the glass. I wonder if they just set it down on top of the wood to allow the glass to cool and set? Because on the underside of the glass, it matches the wood shelf where it sits nicely. So, that it won't fall off. So natural looking... Just great for air plants, succulents, etc. to decorate with!
In this case, Charlotte is inside... an aquarium perhaps?

Finally, I also got this lovely Lenticular Christmas postcard from our guest house friends, Kazuaki and Makiko N. of Japan. How sweet is this card?! I will definitely treasure it. Love lenticular cards so much!
Hope your Christmas weekend is going well everyone!

Gayware Harlequin Spice Canister Set!

Oh my, I finally was able to acquired a vintage Gayware harlequin spice canister set recently. It arrived safely from Australia. I also got to know a lovely seller named Ana, from this purchase.
Not in perfect shape, but definitely a wish list item. I found it through IG, and was so thrilled it arrived safely. Now, I need to take photos of the whole set together!
My Gayware knock offs posted here.
Gayware ad (not my photo.). The spice set shown at the bottom.

I also found this lovely vintage ceramic swan planter with adorable pixie baby sitting on her back. In lovely condition.
It still has its original sticker at the back by "Napcoware" and marked #9416.

I will decide to keep or not too. Just a few days until Christmas. I hope you all are having a beautiful week?!

Mermaids, Mermaids Everywhere!

A fellow collector I met through Instagram, loves everything about the Toei Animation of The Little Mermaid. He inspired me to dig out my old mermaid movie I made back in 2014!
You can also find it on my youtube channel here. I ended up being inspired to take Charlotte back out and try to make more stop-motion shorts... Now, to just find time to make em'! LOL

I also took out of storage my gold fish ornaments and they are hanging on my sea glass mobile.
I did receive in the mail, these cute retro vintage fruit hair clips from the UK. I was not expecting them to be this large, but they are cute nonetheless. A great addition to my hair clip collection.

One of my vintage Japanese version hair clips, for comparison...

Then, I took Nana-chan out, and had her try on an orange mermaid tail. She looks so cute too!
I just love mermaids, don't you?!
